Dan serves as Vice President of Industry Services for NextEnergy, a non-profit corporation founded to enable the commercialization of energy technologies that positively contribute to economic competitiveness, energy security, and the environment. His responsibilities include business strategy and market development support for alternative energy companies and technology working groups. He serves as the lead for venture development and facilitator of consortiums including the Michigan Wing Energy Manufacturing Working Group. Dan has also served as the lead in initiating diversification efforts among Michigan suppliers, primarily in the wind industry– resulting in over $370 million in new business awarded to Michigan suppliers in alternative energy markets since 2007.
Dan spent over a decade with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, serving as leader in new product development for Alternative Energy Technology & Emerging Technologies.
Dan grew up working for a contract manufacturing company, first as a machinist and eventually transitioned into management. Dan also served as Vice President and co-owner of Sustainable Innovations, a start-up consulting and demand generation firm that performed alternative energy project development services utilizing waste to energy technologies.
