Welcome to Japan-America Society of West Michigan
The Japan America Society of West Michigan is a member-supported, non-profit, non-political association engaged in bringing peoples of Japan and the United States closer together in mutual understanding, respect and cooperation.  Through programs and interchange, it endeavors to promote appreciation of cultural, educational, economic, public, and other affairs of interest to both peoples.  Membership to the Society is open to individuals, corporations, and other organizations interested in furthering its programs.

The Japan-America Society of West Michigan's mission is to promote cultural, business, educational and social exchange for the development of both Japanese and American communities in Lansing, Battle Creek, Coldwater, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and other cities in our area.  We are part of a network of approximately 40 other chapters around the nation and the National Association of Japan-America Societies.  We were established in 1999 in Battle Creek and have been active since then conducting exhibits, concerts, film series, speakers, school outreach programs, business briefing and golf outing, business programs and other activities in our service area.
